hi,
thanks for the code, but have to conclude that for wp 3.0.4 (MU) and BuddyPress this code does not work, however, probably, it should, because custom menu in BP is native of WP.
I will have to have a look at this, to see if and why it is not working for you. To be honest, the latest version of WP I have this working on is 3.0, so quite suprised it is not working for you.
Any chance of a preview url? If not:
What kind of errors, if any, are you getting?
Or does it show the menu and just not translate…
atb
probably will have to say sorry and withdraw my comment.
I’m not very good in php and eng actually too, but my issue is that qtranslate does not translate titles of newly created wp menus (appearance > menus) .
if in menu title I write [:en] … [:xx]… it will display whole code, not translation.
Another issue is that when I switch pages/links etc…qtranslate changes language back to default.
now I start to understand that my issues are completely other kitchen from what you are hacking with. is it so?
sorry again!

Boring-Group´s last blog ..WordPress 3 add descriptions to menu items with qtranslate
thanks for help. actually, here everything depends from where issue with menus title should appear. if I use standard “custom menus” widget, then all works fine and there is no need in any code. in my case, I planed to use admin bar and add menu+pages to it, then title is not translated, but I use buddybar plugin, maybe issue is in it? nevertheless, I deceided to use menus in other way, therefor, no need to spend your time on this issue, at least on me.
huge issue, which still remains is qtranslate language switching back to default, when links/community directories/home…are pressed. again, maybe it is because of this small hack, which can not be thrown out, because then qtranslate is not BP compatible?

thanks again!

I think this would be due to the BP buddybar plugin… It is not dealing with the hack that you linked to… I am not so great with BP but I am sure that it would not take too much work to get this to work for you.

Hi! Tried this with Thesis 1.8 and WP 3.2.1 on a localhost and couldn’t make it work. Any other ideas on how to tweak the code… It’s 1 year since last post…
/Kind regards…
To be honest I haven’t worked with Thesis for some time, I cannot promise anything, but If I have time I will update my test environment to the latest Thesis and see what I can do..
Great job, works like a charm!
